The cutting tool PILATUS type 12030
(reversible cutting insert) is a first class cutting tool which can be used on both sides for the dry turning operation of the rolls made of chilled cast iron or of chrome steel. Thanks to the high stability of the cutting tool the machining time of the rolls is reduced to a minimum.
The tool-holder type 333 is a standard tool holder, therefore it is usually employed.
The tool holder type 444 is equipped with two cutting tools and this makes two cuts possible during one working phase. The operating time is reduced by half.
The tool holder type 222 is lenghtened and strenghtened and comes into action for used rolls to bridge the increased distance between the roller turning machine and the roll.
All tool-holders are made of special steel and are reinforced and vibration poor.
